These oats are rolled quite thick, resulting in chewy oatmeal that takes longer to cook (10 minutes) than more conventional, thinly rolled oats. They are my favorite because of the much more substantial texture. However, shipping charges make local bulk purchase a much less expensive option - ask for a discount on a case purchase at your local store.
These are some wonderful, high quality rolled oats. You absolutely cannot tell any difference from traditional rolled oats, except these might be a bit more high quality than most! Makes wonderful oatmeal, granola, cookies, and grinds easily in a food processor if you are looking to make GF oat flour.
So far of all the things I tried that was gluten free, I'm happy to say that this Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Whole Grain Ingredients product was gratifying. I love to eat oat mills and to be able to try one gluten free and loving the taste was quite extraordinary...since I've been disappointed with other gluten free products. This one is a keeper.
